Greetings from the East

Dear Brethren,

As the new Master of Holland Memorial Lodge, I would like to extend the warmest of greetings to all the Brethren far and wide. I hope that you all have a healthy and prosperous 2006. There is plenty of work to be done this year and challenges to be met.  However, I have the highest confidence in the dedicated group of Masons who make up our lodge. One challenge that we must meet is in petitioning new members.  We have permission from the Grand Master of NC to talk more openly with prospective members about Masonry. We have implemented a new web site to aid you in starting a dialogue with a prospective member and I urge you to take advantage of this valuable tool. Even if you do not use a computer yourself perhaps your friend, son, nephew, or grandson does, and this may be just the thing that prompts him to ask the right questions.

Another challenge that we will address is in making our financial future more secure. We have been drawing from our savings to pay operating expenses each year, and this leaves nothing for charitable work, replenishing the diminished savings, or replacement of deteriorated regalia.  We are allowed to have private fundraisers that donate the proceeds to the lodge, and several brethren have come up with inventive ways to do this. Please consider participating in these efforts.

I have found my association with Masonry to be one of the most rewarding and worthwhile experiences of my life. Holland Memorial Lodge’s rich and wonderful history is well worth preserving.  It is my goal to assure that future generations of Masons will have the same opportunity that I have enjoyed to associate with the finest group of men that I have ever known.

It is the highest privilege to call you men my friends and brothers, and it is an honor to serve as Master of Holland Memorial Lodge.

Sincerely and Fraternally,
Glenn McComas

All brothers that have email, please send an email to our Lodge’s email address so I can included it in our membership’s database.  Our lodge’s email is: HollandMemorial668@gmail.com.  Please indicate if you would like to receive “The Corner Stone” via email.  This will not stop the hard copy being sent to you via US Mail.

Golf Shirts, T-Shirts, and Ball Caps

Pre-orders are now being taken for Masonic Emblem Golf Shirts, T-Shirts, and Ball Caps. This year we have a wider selection than ever with Golf shirts in either White or Gray and having an embroidered Masonic emblem as pictured, and T-shirts in either Blue or Gray and having an iron type emblem as pictured. Both types of shirts are available with or without a pocket and all are available in sizes M thru XXXL.  Golf shirts are $20 and T-shirts are $10. Ball Caps should be available in the near future. As always the proceeds will go to benefit the 36th Masonic District charities including the Oxford Orphanage. All or the lodges in the district will have sample shirts available for your inspection and will take orders on their next stated communications, or you can email us at HollandMemorial666@gmail.com and we can arrange shipment to you at additional cost.
